"Ironical" is a perfectly standard variant of "ironic".

What's going on here is that there is a single E. word with two spellings,
"aesthetic" and "esthetic".  The first is chiefly U.K, the second
chiefly American (but probably catching on elsewhere).  The
"a-" is not a negative prefix, but simply reflects the Greco-Latin "ae"
diphthong, not now pronounced as such in either English or the Romance
languages.
