Final Proof - the Dutch are from Outer Space!

I was looking thru some oldish conlanging notes on my computer when I found
it - the final and incontrovertible proof of what we've all suspected; that
the Dutch, rather than being the benign co-Germanics they pretend to be, are
actually visitors from outer space. And there's more; they've not only
travelled thru vast reaches of space, but thru time as well - infact, from our
distant future.

So, what am I talking about? Nothing less than that most Dutch of lexical
entires - _van_. It turns out that this is IDENTICAL to Altaii _van_ "of the".
This is rather more impressive than any proof we've seen of the relationship
between Basque and Quechua, don't you agree?

More seriously, I found this coincidence pretty amusing when I noticed it
today. Of course, the connection with Dutch rather evaporates when someone
points out that Altaii _van_ is a contraction of _ve_ "of" and _an_ "the".

And for those who don't remember the details of my coniverses, Altaii is
intrafictionally spoken in our rather distant future - perhaps ~25 000 AD.
