And not to be confused with NYU, which was kind enough to give me a BA-- in
the early sixties, our main "campus" was Washington Square. Ah,
memories....
In those days, I don't think all the schools mentioned by Steg were yet a
part of CUNY. IIRC Hunter was still private (and women only).
My sister attended Finch in NYC, a "finishing school" that fell on hard
times in the 60s or 70s (young women apparently no longer wanting to be
"finished")-- their valuable real estate became condos.
In grad school at Michigan, there was a wonderfully wacked out fellow
student (female) from CUNY; she had a sweatshirt that said (of course) "I'm
a CUNY Linguist".
