Not spelling rules per se, but:
In Géarthnuns cursive, a, au, and p, as well as ai, ou, and b could be
easily confused. So dotting them becomes crucial. "a" is unmarked, "au" has
a dot above (its connector is also supposed to be looped, but could easily
get left by the wayside in rapid writing), and "p" has a dot below; the same
strategies are used to disambiguate ai, ou, and b, respectively.
