Lost intervocalic consonants? What if DuS were originally a compound
word, and was simplified to DuS.

Probably an obsolete word 'ej meaning "star" or something similar.
_yo'_ means "fleet", while "Do'" is listed as "velocity", since one
meaning of 'ejyo' is "starship class", perhaps ships were once
classified primarily by speed?
