I'm new! (At the age of twenty)

YHL commented about not starting Conlanging until after the age of twenty.
I discovered the Joy of Language (natlangs, specifically Russian, that is) at
twelve. I came across and was fascinated by Esperanto at the age of fifteen.
For a while I was an avid Esperantist but after a while I became less
interested in it as a IAL and simply enjoyed it as a very pleasant language.
I continued to deepen my knowledge of it.
Over the years I dabbled in conlanging but without any measurable result
(here and there two or three pages of notes). It was not until 1997 (by then
I was already forty seven years old...that's right [47]!) that I seriously
started linguaforming.
I discovered various Conlangs on the Net and was very impressed first by
Eklektu. Sometime later I came across Tony Harris' Aluric. I was so
impressed that I contacted him and we have become close friends. It was
essentially Aluric that re-inspired me to start conlanging. After three
years work "tá Drúnit shól" was born.
So, I am now fifty [50] years old, I have been conlanging for three years, I
have no training in linguistics but I play it all by ear and I have been
playing "catch-up" with all you guys and gals and enjoying every minute of
it! By the way...
Am I the oldest one on the list?
Ciao,
Jim H
