At the local Antiochian Orthodox Church, I was told Gibson also had used material from one if the very few surviving (Syrian, apparently) villages where Aramaic survives as a spoken language. Incidentally, Syrian-Arabaic speaking members of that congregation said they could follow some of the Aramaic in the movie. John Leland
