Steg, this quote made my day! My fiancee didn't appreciate it nearly as
much as I did. She thinks I'm a nerd.
Speaking of which, does anyone else run into this kind of attitude from
your loved ones? Mind you, she doesn't think I should stop conlanging,
she just lovingly teases me about my super-nerdy hobby. ;) (no offense
if someone on the list doesn't yet realize just how nerdy we all are)
I think my wife does know it, but she doesn't care about linguistics at =
all.
Two weeks ago I was in a training. People told that I was too introvert =
and challenged me there to tell a secret so they could 'reach me' better. =
I told them I had a hobby no one knew about, not even my wife. When I =
explained conlanging they were disappointed. They hoped I was a sex =
pervert or something like that. They liked the idea of conlanging and said =
that it wasn't nerdy. That 's what they said, I don't know what they =
thought ...
