Hi and welcome Noelle!
We all, of course, start as begginers, and on this list you will find
everything from linguistics professors who've been conlanging for decades to
complete newbies with little knowledge of formal linguistics (I'm somewhere
between the two extremes). As for the linguistic terms and things, this
list, I'm sure you will find, is an excellent place to learn about them.
If you have any conlang project of your own you want to show us, people will
be very interested to see it.
