Well, I also subscribed just two days ago. I'm 17 years old and live in
Germany, and as you may have guessed I'm an amateur at these linguistic
things, too. So ... hello everyone! :)

Why do I conlang ... hmm, probably because I'm an awful poet and I can't
stand painting. ;)
As someone else already said, it's "for the artistic value". To me,
language is (or at least can be) something beautiful and aesthetic. What
could be more wonderful than creating a language yourself? I also
believe that it can be a very personal thing, something you can not only
put your creative energy into, but also your feelings and emotions.
It's similar with other art forms, like music, for example. (I play the
piano, and I'd like to compose myself one day, but at the moment I'm
lacking too much theoretical knowledge.)
