Indeed, your conlang can create its own question particle, and it needn't
be exactly the same as in French. A "or no?" at the end of the question or
a "is it true that" at the beginning, which loses connection to its
original meaning and becomes for speakers a single word, will rapidly
become a question particle which will shorten quickly (the same phenomenon
happened with French "est-ce que" which was originally a much longer
expression but now is just [Esk(@)]).
