Hey, Elliott. I think your sound might be the same as a sound I came up with
somehow. It's not quite [T], not quite [s]. I would write mine as s with a
plus underneath, meaning further forward, or perhaps theta with a minus
underneath.
The ASCII system I prefer is X-SAMPA, which can be found at
http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/sampa/x-sampa.htm.
Sounds like you hit the nail on the head. Not quite [T], not quite [s] is
probably the best explanation I've heard of so far. Do you think that this
sound could arise from lenition of [s] in intervocal situations? I'm hoping
this is the case since that is the origin of it in Silindion.
