Bu2 shi4. (Sorry, only Mandarin, no Cantonese)
I found the tones in Mandarin complicated, but not the ultimate
problem. I sometimes even noticed to have applied the tone sandhi
rules without thinking about them (yi1, yi2 or yi4; bu2 or bu4; third
tone regular sandhi rule). :-)
But I simply love phonology! And I love Arabic sounds! :-)))
What's definitely hard for me with Chinese is its writing. And the
syntax that seems easy but seemingly cannot be described with
rules. :-)
