How much detail do you want? Essentially, though, it's a little golden
magical flying thing that features in Quidditch, a popular game among
wizards that involves flying around on broomsticks. Whichever team
first captures the golden snitch thereby ends the game and the team
with more points wins.
For more information, ask your friendly neighbourhood HP fan or check
Wikipedia; knowing WP, I'm sure it's got at least half a dozen
screenfulls on it.
