It also applies to inflexions (including zero);
e.g. <va:c> `voice' declines thus:
va:k, va:c-am, va:c-a:, va:c-e:, va:c-as, va:c-i
va:c-au, va:g-bhya:m, va:c-o:s
va:c-as, va:g-bhis, va:g-bhyas, va:c-a:m, va:k-s.u
