There exist normalized 2- and 3-letter language codes:

For a more extensive list, have a look at the 3-letter
codes used by the SIL, which include about any living
language:
http://www.ethnologue.com/codes/
However, if memory serves, the codes in the Kinder
Surprise you mentioned appear inside an oval and I
think they are merely country codes.
