"Match" is "alumeto" in Esperanto, and "child" is
"infano". I really can't see what is outrageous, or
stupid, or ugly, there. It's just a question of
political will, which is the thing European
governements lack most. One should remember that the
former French governements were a good deal
responsible for the little audience of Esperanto,
because they always hoped that French would be THE
international language in Europe. Of course, they
turned to be heavily wrong. So this is all
short-sighted politics and diplomacy, and no
linguistic problem.

So, enough about Esperanto, I guess. The topic may be
taboo, but the problems remain, and we pay for this.
