Questions About Grammar

I have recently been reading by inflection, agglutination, and isolation, and I
have thus read about the ways in which various languages that are either
(primarily) inflecting, agglutinating, or isolated denote such things as
grammatical cases for nouns, verb tenses, and so on. For some reason I still
have trouble in these areas with my own conlanging efforts. Phonology comes
easy to me, but I find the grammatical concepts much more challenging.
I was wondering if anyone had any advice from their own experiences with
developing the grammar for their own conlangs, or any advice in relation more
specifically to the use of conjugation and declension, which is a little
confusing to me.
I was really glad to find this mailinglist, and actually hope for a billion replies.
