Yeah, I know. Blame GMail. I've told 'em about it (as have others);
not something I have control over at this point. I'm sure they'll get
to it eventually.

I'm *doing* an intro to conlanging course. For the second time, even.
And I know someone who was intending (at least) to do a conculturing
course. :-P
No, the symposium won't be about such low-level introductory stuff. We
all know it already, honestly. A FAQ pamphlet / quick learning guide
for non-conlangers attending would be a good idea though. (If anyone
has one, or is willing to write / compile one, please let me know.)
But not everyone interested is on CONLANG - or for that matter, other
lists. I know I didn't realize there *were* any active forums (just
individuals' pages) some years ago - that's why I started the
LiveJournal conlangs community.
So wide-broadcast media may well smoke out people otherwise
unconnected to us - and for that matter, I think conlanging could use
some (positive) publicity as a living art/science.
