I was especially fascinated by the pidgin English spoken by Jar-Jar Binks and his people. There were a lot of coined words mixed in with English, yet they came across as perfectly understandable because of context, and their tendancy to coin words out of pieces and parts of real English words. I'd like to analyze the grammar of their pidgin more closely. It was pretty interesting to listen to. I enjoyed the movie as a whole, but I have to confess that I found Jar-Jar's linguistic antics to be the most interesting part of it. --G. -----Original Message----- From: Adam Walker <dreamertwo@...> To: Multiple recipients of list CONLANG <CONLANG@...> Date: Wednesday, May 19, 1999 2:58 PM Subject: I saw it!
