Géarthnuns is chutney, but that's probably just because I really like
the word "chutney" (both as signifiant and signifié) (I also relish
the word "relish"). Still, mixing disparate ingredients that I
wouldn't ordinarily think of combining (cranberries and green
peppers; pineapple, onion, and balsamic vinegar) to come up with a
strange, exotic, sumptuous, pungent condiment -- I can live with that.
French is a blanquette de veau. Savory comfort food.
