Now, now. Last time I was there (1985) the place was quite up-to-date. I wonder if _anyplace however tiny_ in the US still uses a central exchange with real operators?

My mother, in mid-stages of Alzheimer's, used to do imaginary crossword puzzles, with an imaginary pencil, on tabletops. It's the sole amusing aspect that sister and I still recall with rueful chuckles.
