uk now has an incredibly systematic set of categories
:
00 abroad
01 most uk
02 certain large towns ( london, cardiff, belfast, &c)
03 currently empty
04 currently empty ( or possibly pagers, but noone has
pagers now )
05 currently empty
06 currently empty
07 mobile phones
08 cheap and free calls
09 expensive calls
all numbers are 11 digits long ( the form for
terrestrial numbers is 01xxx xxx xxx, sometimes, ( for
four digit area codes ) 01xx xxx xxxx, or 02x xxxx
xxxx. for mobiles it's 07xxx xxx xxx
you can omit the area code from the 01 and 02
categories, but no others
