We have to do that too in Maryland. Yet - and this I
don't understand - there are not really any local
numbers that _don't_ have the local area code. Perusal
of the Yellow Pages reveals almost all 301 area codes.
Probably within a decade or so, we'll all have to dial
about 20 numbers to make a call.
