Lord yes. Kash was supposed to be just a little adjunct to a First-Contact
story/novel I once mapped out (the major obstacle to completion was its
resemblance to "The Left Hand of Darkness"), but anyway, making the language
and drawing the maps and writing the history etc etc. was a lot more
fun........Related problem-- and a warning to young academics with a
creative streak-- grad school and dissertation-writing-jargon pretty much
stopped me from extensive fiction-reading and killed whatever narrative
writing style I may have had.
But keep going, and good luck! I for one will be interested to see what you
produce...
