i'm boring. roughly 50:50 english:scots. the english
sside has greek somewhere, but very little. the scots
side is mostly lowland ( fife and glasgow ), but my
great-great-grandmother was a gaelophone
however, i have some fantastic surnames in my family.
i unfortunately got lumbered with the plain ugly
surname Butt, but my mother's is Finlay ( or
Fionnlaigh if you want ! ), her mother was Hepburn,
her aunt is Colquhoun, there's also a Little in there
and we've got some Campbells too ( boo hiss !! )
my father's side is too boring anglo-saxon for words,
so i'll stop there.
