IIRC, Igbo, a lang spoken in Nigeria and belonging to the
Niger-Congo family, has both distinctive tones _and_
distinctive stress. In other words, a word may change its
meaning depending upon which tone is used with it
and/or which syllable is stressed. (not to mention the distinction
between explosive and implosive consonants!)
