In my understanding, the minimum phoneme for a
syllable is a vowel. (Then there's Russian which uses
single consonants as prepositions :)).) In my conlangs
I decide before I ever construct a single word what
the rules for syllables will be. Are initial consonant
clusters allowed? final clusters? No clusters? Only
certain possible consonants to close syllables? (This
las one is how Oreelynna works. The only allowable
consonants at the end of a syllable are n, l, r, th.)
I am no expert, but this seems to work for me.
