So is the Dalai Lama, in spite of the Tibetan term being properly
translated as "Victorius Preciousness" or somesuch (rGyal ba Rin po
che). All incarnated Lamas (and some not officially incarneted) are
addressed as Rinpoche "Precious One". A strange term to me, since I became
acquainted to Gollum before meeting my first Rinpoche! :-)
