Rather, I'd say that an arpeggio is a type of strum, but not arechetypical. All arpeggios may be strums, but not all strums are arpeggios (arpeggii? Arpeggi? How do you pluralize Italian nouns in -io? Does it matter that it's a -gio, and thus presumably /dZo/ rather than /dZio/?) Maybe a strum is a "guitarpeggio"? :) -- Mark J. Reed <markjreed@...>
