"k-" is an emphatic prefix used among crackers, perhaps derived from reduplicated "k-kool" /k@'kul/, meaning "very cool". "Rad" is probably a clipped form of "radical", but means "good, praiseworthy". Therefore this means (in an earlier slang) "swell". ADULT: There are two words I never want to hear you use: one is "swell" and the other is "lousy". TEEN: Okay. What are the two words? -- John Cowan cowan@ccil.org One art/there is/no less/no more/All things/to do/with sparks/galore --Douglas Hofstadter
