David, how is "burned" a noun? (puzzled) Do you mean
a participle? Participles are often adjectival. Both of these
are participles. The burnt macaroni. The macaroni is
burnt. Speaking of which.... ?!! I burnt the macaroni!
(weak verbs, both of them, which mean that preterite
and PP get the dental ending).
That does not mean "al dente," though. :)
