NYC is EST/EDT, yes? That makes you currently 5 hours away from the time in
the United Kingdom, OR 4 hours away from UTC. The non-summer time, you'd be
5 hours away from both UTC and UK Time. Perhaps they were giving the GMT
time instead of the BST (British Summer Time) time?
