The French author Francois Rabelais (1494-1553) also
used something like a conlang sometimes:

nou croupys fost bardounoflist nou grou. Agou paston

oust troppassou." said Panurge, the polyglott, to
Pantagruel who recognizes here the language of the
country of Utopia.
