Re: Are any of you working on a conlang that is based off ofnon-indo-european languages?

Tech is based partly on IE and partly on Semitic, Egyptian and Berber (aka
North Afro-Asiatic -- I might throw in Cushitic and Chadic later), with
ideas for grammar taken from Kartvelian as well as IE and Semitic.
Lake, however, will not be based on IE. The phonology is inspired a great
bit by Yi, with Classical Tibetan-like clusters of consonants, and five
tones based on a pentatonic musical scale. I may not even get past the
phonology/naming stage of the language, however, since Tech is my main
concern right now.
(Also, Lake is a tentative name, given because of the aquatic nature of the
humanoids that speak it. They're like the Zoras of the Zelda games by
Nintendo, or a sort of "frog man".)
