Well, I changed Palo from a stress language to a register tone language overnight. That was a couple of years after I changed it from a language with verb suffixes for tense to a language with present vs. past tense word orders. I guess I'm a periodic revisions person.

I didn't know that there was a connection between VSO word order and the use of definite articles. How many VSO languages have you studied? Approximately how many VSO languages are there all told? Are you sure that there is a VSO-definite article connection in natural languages? Jim
