Good luck there, and my best wishes. If you look obviously non-Asian
Koreans tend to cut you a lot of slack; it's Korean-in-appearance
English-speaking punks like me that they tend to give trouble, since
despite outward Westernization there *is* (at least among the people I've
known) still a deep conservative streak.
Good luck with Korean, too. I think you'll find the alphabet pretty easy
to read, a bit less so to write (I'm told this is a deliberate
feature--there's more than one way to write various sounds in various
contexts, plus mutations, so my spelling is hopelessly phonetic yet
incorrect), and a bit weird to learn if you don't know Japanese. If you
do, the grammar will probably be pretty easy. Or so I'm told. :-)
