Denden has a few nice features.
There appear to be different terms for grandchildren of children who
have remained in the clan after marriage, and of children who have
married out of the clan. Previously, it was assumed that the difference
was one between children of your daughter and children of your son; this
could also be a regional variation. So:
anu.yi son.small grandson outside the clan, daughters son
anuzi son.great grandson inside the clan, sons son
yanu.iy daughter.small granddaughter outside the clan, daughters daughter
yanu.zi son.great granddaughter inside the clan, sons daughter
Nephews and nieces of ego are often, especially in the countryside
called _anu_ son and _yani_ daughter, and appear to be treated as such.
And there are different terms for the two mothers that can be present in
a traditional marriage (between three people):
naha mother
naha'qosin carrying mother (who has borne the child)
naha'munir cuddling mother
naha'faya milk-mother (the nana'munir if she has breast-fed the
child of the naha'qosin)
arda father
