If I'm not mistaken, Yonge St. goes from Toronto to near Winnipeg. My
research (http://www.qod.com/september.html) indicates that it is almost
1900 Km (1179 miles) long, but it is also known as Highway 11, but
that's just an excse to get provincial funding. The highway designation
was added after the street was built, and anywhere you go it will be
called Yonge St.
