Carsten has told me how I might fix the problem I've been having
recently. I am resending the last message I sent in what I hope is
the corrected version. Please let me know if y'all can read it.
Thanks, Carsten.

I found sentence #10 from the latest translation exercise very
interesting, and difficult.

10. I am certain it would have worked if she had told me to put it
on my cousin's chest rather than eating it.

I have isolated these five clauses: ( I am no longer indicating the
accent marks on the list.)

a) I am certain = MUS NESUS ESA = I certain am

b) that it would have worked = "num pæpïursu" = it to have worked:
subject in acc.; verb in perfective supine.

c) if she had told me = (nus cüaani musï' o pos eego) = she if me to
had told; verb in perfective subj. It is not possible to lengthen
an already long vowel to indicate the perfective.

d) that I put it on my cousin's chest = [mus musïo eevraatusïo
stenom ena numæ stiivu] = I cousin's chest on it put; verb in
imperfective supine. The æ is epenthetic.

e) rather than that I eat it = \stiiva mus num edu\ = rather.than I
it eat; verb in imperfective supine.

These are then arranged as follows:

MUS (nus cüaani muş' o) [mus muşo eevraatuşo stenom ena num stiivu]
\stiivi mus num edo\ (pos eego) "num pæpïursu" NESUS ESA

mus nus cüaani muş' o mus muşo eevraatuşo stenom ena numæ stiivu
stiivi mus num edo pos eego num pæpïurso nesus esa.

"..." is the verbal complement of 'certain' and immediately precedes

[...]\..\ is the compound clause direct object of 'told' and
immediately precedes it.

Leaving the first part of (...) to be the second element in the
