The vowel in _hot_ and the start of the diphthong in _height_ are
low back. The latter answers Nik's question: _hate_ [haIt], _height_
[hAIt] oe [hQIt]. After labials /ai/ can be preceded by a [w] glide,
e.g. _vine_ [vwQIn].
