Toki!
After some people already answered to Jeffrey, I'd also like to
comment on Toki Pona, too.
First of all: a very nice language. :-)
I like:
- simplicity
- grammar and the source of the words.
- size of basic dictionary
- that it is used and even has Wikipesija pages
- isolating type
I dislike:
- sound, as with most minimal phonologies. It has this typical
minimal phonology sound. :-)
I blame no-one, I think it's inherent: I tried to do minimal
phonology langs as well, but I could not get rid of that very
same typical sound unless I'd have /E, y, 1, M, q, ?\, h, X/ or
something...
- V (vowel only) syllables
- pidgin grammar. Maybe it will manage to become a creole.
- the use of /e/ and /o/ not being minimal. With only < 120 words,
no ambiguities would occur with a sound shift /e/ -> /i/, /o/ ->
/u/. :-) (-> Tuki Puna)
- too many three-syllable words. :-)
jan Inki li wili tuki i tuki puna.
(I don't like 'Inki'... :-))
