To be honest, I don't see the necessity of this. Why should there
absolutely be one POD? At present we have a few - more or less -
independent ones: Britain was a Roman province a bit longer than *here*,
thus allowing Latin to catch on; the Roman Empire also had a small province
north of Pannonia, which allowed Wenedyk to spread over the territory that
is Poland *here*; the Dalmatians were more successful than *here*; Napoleon
did not attack Russia, and thus remained in power; Scandinavia did not fall
apart; in Russia, the Bolsheviks were defeated by the Whites; and some
differences in the way the west colonised the rest of the world. And some
minors stuff that shouldn't affect anything but itself. Seriously, I don't
see a problem here.
Besides, don't forget that we are not a bunch of professional or semi-
professional alt-historians. And every participant has his own way and
style: some like to stay very close to *here*, others like to give more
freedom to their fantasy; some care more for languages, others more for
history; some like technical or numismatical stuff, others don't; some post
a lot, others less or not at all. As long as we cooperate nicely and don't
come up with things that bite other people's work, I can't see anything
wrong with that.
