Just wanted to tell anyone who was interested that I changed a few things
on my
Kelen web page. The fun and important "change" (actually a refinement)
follows:

On the Relationals 'la' and 'pa'

The 'la' relational is a simple one. It says that there are two things which
follow and that the second is the equivalent of the first.

 'la ja mal malje'
the leaf = a green thing
"The leaf is green." or "It is a green leaf."

The 'pa' relational also has two arguments. In this case, the second argument
is an attribute of the first.

'pa ja mal malje'
the leaf "has" greenness

The difference between 'la ja mal malje' and 'pa la mal malje' is subtle. The
first implies that the leaf is the definition of greenness or the epitome of
greenness, the second merely implies that the leaf happens to be green rather
than some other color.

Another example consists of the difference in these two sentences:

'la ri sholje'
"You are Beauty."
'pa ri sholje'
"You have beauty." or "You are beautiful."

The first is something a poet might say to his beloved. The second is an
everyday statement.

'la' is used to express identity:

'la tho le maer'
this here = my house, or "This is my house."
'la le Kithje'
"I am Kithje."

and kinship and other relationships between people:

'la tie leim'
siblings = 1p plus 3p
"We are siblings."

'la emar leim'
mother-child = 1p plus 3p
"She's my mother." or "I am her daughter."

'la shan saim'
friends = 3p plus 3p
"They are friends."

'pa' is used to express possession and ownership:

'pa sho maer le'
That house "has" me. = "That house is mine."

'pa le sho maer'
I "have" that house. = "I own that house."

In the first sentence, that house has the attribute of being mine. In the
second, I have the attribute of having that house.
