Well, I don't think that that one's on TV, but lots of anime have been
imported on tape. I haven't seen that one, but I've heard of it.
What's so controversial and weird about it?
Speaking of anime and conlanging, in _Vision of Escaflowne_, they show
texts written by the people of "Gaea", and it's written in a constructed
script, or, quite possibly, random squiggles. :-) The script used by
the people of the time that the series takes place I'd guess is a
syllabry, based on the apparent variety used. There seems to be too
many for an alphabet, but too simple for a logographic script. However,
they also showed an Atlantean city [here's another example of distorted
mythology :-)] and the script seemed complex enough for a logographic
system. I wonder if those were just squiggles, or if there was anything
to it.
