Not if "be sad" is just a patientless form of the verb "be angry"....
Of course the happy ~ sad opposition is not necessarily a cultural universal ...
could just as easily be happy ~ calm or happy ~ needy or happy ~ unlucky...
depending on what exactly the word translated as 'happy' actually means.
