Or at least less than honest intent. Which is why most cultural
anthropologists were taught to adopt a neutral expression for first contact
with a "new" culture.

As far as I know, the only expressioon, which approaches being common to
all cultures, is the involuntary raising of eyebrows upon initially seeing
someone whom the individual recognises.
