Me too. Funkiness:
Top 5:
1. Mainline to liberal Christian Protestants
(which is how I would've characterized myself)
2. liberal Quakers
3. Orthodox Quakers
(I have found aspects of the Friends attractive, but unfortunately
have never been able to characterize myself as a pacifist.)
4. Unitarian Universalism
(hmm...)
5. Reform Judiasm
<blink>
Bottom 5:
1. Christian Science
2. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
3. Jainism
4. Atheists and Agnostics
5. Jehovah's Witnesses
There are a lot of times when I would characterize myself as an agnostic
Christian--I have yet to be convinced of any "scientific" (or
mathematical?) proof of a Higher Power, but as far as religion goes, proof
isn't the point. <shrug> If I did change faith I would probably end up
as some form of humanist.
YHL, remembering a math classmate at Cornell (an Orthodox Jew, I believe)
who, on every page of his notes, wrote something like "for the glory of
God" in Hebrew--would that my conviction were that strong
