Interestingly, "mormon" could easily be a Kirumb word. From the proto-kirumb
root <mir-/mor-> indicating pain, damage, nightmares, and dark elves, with the
<-mo-> suffix indicating the result or state resulting from an action, <mormon>
(/mUr"mUN/ IIRC) would be the accusative of a *<mormos> or *<mormi:> meaning
"panic".[1]
Cf. Gk <mormo:tos> "frightful", <Mormo:> "a minor Greek goddess [who] bit
children in order to frighten them", and possibly L <formi:do:> "I fear" ( >
English "formidable").
*Muke!
[1] I *think* <mormi:> would be the relevant form. But I read about -iH2 stems
a long time ago and any actual work on Kirumb was even farther back. Bah.
