"Early split off"is probably the best place to put High Court Meridonian, as
it is intended to derive directly from Latin. However, as yet almost all the
written Meridonian texts
are really in Low Meridonian, which is a sort of pidgin derived chiefly from
Gallo-Romance and Ibero-Romance but written according to HC Meridonian rules.
In theory, it represents people from several Romance speaking cultures in our
world who found themselves in another world in an area where the dominant
literary language was HC Meridonian.
